the third post

i've discovered that people only want to hear that things are good.
so no matter how you ask, or how many times you ask, i'm only gonna tell you that things are good, just good.
but you know that thats not all. and ill know that you know that thats not all. and we will pretend--maybe talk about the weather, or maybe your bowl predictions.
and that will be enough to convince each other that things are good.
yet as the elevator door opens, you will give me a glance, one backward glance with a sad halfsmile, and walk out. and ill be left wondering why you even asked me in the first place.
